Dutch Invertuals - Dutch Design Week

October 19, 2019
Dutch Design week 2019
Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Exhibition

At the request of Wendy Plomp, curator of Dutch Invertuals, Studio Nina van Bart was invited to create a new work for their exhibition based on the theme: The Circle.

For their 10th anniversary, have brought together a selection of emerging and established designers to redesign one of the most iconic shapes in the universe: the circle. A symbol of unity, perfection, and infinity, offering their personal interpretations on its timeless form.

For this exhibition, Studio Nina van Bart realised a rug inspired by the spherical flower Craspedia globosa. Its design reflects a motif of “round within a round within a round,” echoing the flower’s texture. The 3D rug was produced in collaboration with CS-rugs using the latest 3D tufting techniques. This design merges natural inspiration with technology.
